Harvey, Legora or a private AI?

For Gulf law firms choosing a legal AI tool. Tick your constraints and see what each vendor's own pages say about them, with the page and the date, and when a private system is the option that meets them.

1. Where is your firm?
2. Must client data stay in your country or in the region?
3. What share of your documents is in Arabic?
4. Arabic legal sources
5. Which document management system do you use?

Questions

Can Harvey or Legora keep client data in the UAE?

Not according to their own pages on 8 October 2026. Harvey lists production environments in the US, the EU and Australia, and Legora processing regions in the US, the EU and Asia-Pacific. Harvey says it can take data residency requests where its cloud providers and the law allow, and a Legora job post for the Gulf calls local hosting the price of entry.

Which legal AI vendor runs the model in the UAE?

Of the six large vendors, only ChatGPT Enterprise documents model inference in the UAE: for new workspaces, with two models, and with some processing, such as text extraction from uploaded files, still able to run elsewhere. Microsoft 365 Copilot can store data in the UAE or Qatar, but its model calls can go to other regions, and its UAE in-country processing was announced but not confirmed live on 8 October 2026.

When is a private AI the better option for a Gulf law firm?

When client data must stay in a country where none of the six documents that the model runs, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait or Oman, or when every step must stay in the UAE. A private system runs on your own hardware or in your own cloud account, so you decide where the data and the model sit.
